A Hen night to remember, a storm is raging inside and out of the Riverside Function Suite. Inside there are not one, but two Hen Nights! Firstly there’s bride to be Annie, no spring chicken, hoping to be third time lucky? She’s already more in laws than she can cope with, and they’re all here! Then there’s the other bride’s Great Granny May, she’s an old hen, 68 years married, seen it all and doesn’t care who she terrifies, least of all her granddaughter! Last but not least, office manager Jane. Jane isn’t strutting her stuff with the other girls. Okay this is not her idea of a night out, but why can’t she keep her eyes off the stripping fireman? Just another Hen Night? Not in a Msfits show! Events take a very unexpected turn and our three heroines are literally swept off their feet! They have to join forces for survival or nobody’s getting married in the morning! Marriage, global warming, mothers and daughters all come under The MsFits spotlight in this funny and poignant comedy drama.. 6pm As part of the evening Lancome and Clarins make-up counters from Debenhams, Bangor visit Theatr Gwynedd this evening with their new Autumn ranges. Arrive early for make overs or consultations. Also Cofi Roc party girls will give away freebies in the bar. Best Duo at 2007 Folk Awards live at TG
Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick- At Theatr Gwynedd Wednesday 19 September 8pm They have played together from the mid to late 60's and re-joined up in 1984. Martin Carthy is one of the giants of contemporary British music. He is regarded as one of the finest singers and interpreters of traditional music of the British Isles as well as a highly influential, innovative and much imitated guitar player. Martin has been awarded the MBE. In 2000 he released a 4 CD box collection to commemorate his 45 years in the business and in 2005 released another 4 CD box set as part for his work with The Watersons.. Dave Swarbrick's contribution to folk/rock music is legendary. He is simply Britains finest Folk Fiddler who has continued to delight audiences from the early days with Martin through his 15 years with Fairport Convention to recent work with Alistair Hullet. Sadly, a continued deterioration in Swarb’s health since the mid 1990’s has made recent live appearances rare, eventually ceasing. In 1999 his condition was believed to be so serious that the Daily Telegraph amongst others printed his obituary. Swarb's famous reaction from his hospital bed was 'It's not the first time I've died in Coventry!' In 2005 Dave Swarbrick underwent a bi-lateral Lung Transplant and will be touring for the first time in over 2 years in September 2006. 'Dave Swarbrick's remarkable talent leaves the listener in no doubt that the man is a pure musical genius' The Guardian
